Norman Clarke
The Rt Rev Norman Harry Clarke[1] was the third Anglican Bishop of Plymouth from 1950[2] to 1962[3]. Born in Sheffield on 31 July 1892 [4] and educated at Sheffield University [5], he was successively a Diocesan Inspector of Schools, then a Canon Residentiary at Southwark Cathedral and finally (before his elevation to the Episcopate) Vicar of St Andrew’s, Plymouth[6]. He died on 18 February 1974[7].
